Snapshots & Scenes from December 2017

Snapshots & Scenes is a linky hosted by Mel, Kerri-Ann, Jenny, Chloe, and Sara-Jayne. Mel describes it as “a monthly project to focus on telling a story through video and photos. It can be a summary of the past month or highlight a special occasion or the little things!

Snapshots & Scenes

I take so many photos each month, mostly of Isla, not all of them in focus! And then I do nothing more with them, even if they are lovely photos, and show how much she has changed, or what we’ve been up to over the month. So I thought joining up with this linky will be a great way of sharing those photos, so they’re not just lost on my phone forever!

So looking back on December:

  • Three generations of women in our family. It’s not a great photo of any of us really, but it’s nice to have photos of Isla with her Mummy and Grandma.
  • My crazy girl eating her dinner with a wooden lolly pop stick!
  • Isla is so so stubborn she was refusing to go to sleep….but ended up falling asleep sat up!
  • Our allotment looking a bit sorry for itself. Needs some serious work this year
  • Santa Isla enjoying playing on her Toddlebike2, amidst the chaos of our living room
  • My PBUK Secret Santa presents. Thank you Santa!
  • The lovely footprint canvas Isla did at nursery
  • An exhausting day while away with friends in Somerset…all the ladies needed to have an afternoon nap
  • Writing Isla’s name in the snow
  • Isla enjoying watching The Snowman and The Snowdog for the first time, while sitting on Daddy’s knee, who is working from home cos he is snowed in
  • Isla stealing my slippers and wearing them round the house
  • Opening her stocking from Santa on Christmas morning
  • Grandpa had put all the pen lids on Isla’s fingers, cos he’s strange like that!
  • Doing jigsaw puzzles with Great Grandad
  • Santa Isla getting presents out from under the Christmas tree
  • Stealing Great Grandad’s honey, a very much you had to be there moment
  • Wanting to be like Aunty Rosie and Aunty Vicky and have two babies!
  • Isla obviously decided that our house needed cleaning, as she piled loads of Mr Muscle into our shopping basket!
  • Playing with all of Nana Jan’s pegs, cos they’re the best toy there is, right?

December is such a lovely month. And I think these photos pretty much sum up most of December for us. For me, it’s one of family and friends. It was so lovely to watch Isla at Christmas this year. Last year she slept for most of it, and didn’t understand it. This year..she still didn’t understand it, but she loved “helping” everyone open their presents.

How was your December? Check back here at the start of February to see what January was like for us with the next link up to Snapshots & Scenes.

Hey Sophie, it’s so lovely to have you sharing your happy moments with us! I’m just like you: I take tons and tons of photos of my 4 every single month, and until we started #SnapshotsandScenes, I was doing nothing with the ‘extra’ photos. Now they have a ‘home’ and I love writing this little monthly update. I love the photos of Isla dressed as Father Christmas!!! Her footprint mouse is just too cute for words. I love it! Haha, the Mr Muscle anecdote is funny 🙂 I was wondering why you had so many bottles of it in your shopping basket! Hope you’re joining us again this Thursday with your January photos and / or videos. xx Mel
