Living Arrows – 8/52 {2018}

Kahlil Gibran – “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”

Living Arrows

Each week I link up with Living Arrows, a linky hosted by Donna from What The Redhead Said.  As Donna explains the project takes its name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran called On Children.

So every week I’ll be posting a photo of Isla from the last week that captures a moment of childhood.

Isla has been such a cheeky monkey this week. She has refused to get dressed most mornings,  some days it’s taken me over 3 hours to get her fully dressed.  She’s been playing with things round the house she shouldn’t be (oven knobs,  our massage chair,  plug sockets, etc), and climbing on e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g!

It turns out that the dining room chairs are a really fun place to climb up on, and hide! She found it so funny to be lying on the chairs like this, to the point she gave herself hiccups laughing!

She is becoming such a little character and becoming so so independent (read: stubborn! I have no idea where she gets it from!) But I’m loving watching her grow, and have pretend conversations on the phone, and feeding her dolly and baby.

Isla has had such a lovely weekend though,  meeting up with her friends from nursery on Friday night, going to her cousin’s 1st birthday party on Saturday,  as well as celebrating Chinese New Year with some of our favourite people (turns out Isla loves prawn crackers), and having a picnic at the allotment on Sunday. None of this tired her out enough to go to sleep at a decent time, and sleep through though! Cheeky monkey!

    It’s amazing how little sleep some toddlers have when you consider how active they are! My 2 year old is very much the same! X #livingarrows

    She really does sound like such a character – and that looks like such a great place to hide too! x
