Living Arrows – 7/52 {2018}

Kahlil Gibran – “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”

Living Arrows

Each week I link up with Living Arrows, a linky hosted by Donna from What The Redhead Said.  As Donna explains the project takes its name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran called On Children.

So every week I’ll be posting a photo of Isla from the last week that captures a moment of childhood.

Only a day late this week. Yesterday was a bit of a pain, my car battery died but I managed to start it after a while and get it to the local garage to get fixed. And I had no phone signal for most the day, no idea why, but it was annoying! So I decided to get a load of jobs done around the house, which included washing loads of seed trays ready for sewing loads of seeds for our allotment this year.

Anyway, Living Arrows.

This gorgeous girly of mine (she’s just learnt to say gorgeous, it’s so sweet!) had a wonderful weekend spent with all her cousins from one side of the family, as we were at Nana Jan’s birthday party! It was so sweet watching them all playing together.

Isla decided she wanted to wear Nana Jan’s hat, and oh my, does she look adorable!? Yes, I am biased, but I think she does anyway. Having spent about 18 months of her life hating hats and refusing to wear them, she absolutely loves wearing them now! Next up we need to get her wearing hair clips before Daddy takes to her hair with a pair of scissors!

Isla is quite a shy child around other people, or large groups of people, but her speech is really coming along at the moment. Mostly she uses single words to communicate, but every now and again we get two words together. This weekend we definitely got that, over and over again for quite a while… “more choc-choc”!!! I think she’d spent too much time around her elder cousin!!

Unfortunately being at Nana Jan’s birthday party over the weekend meant we had to miss out on my Grandma’s 85th birthday party and seeing all of that side of my family, but if they will leave planning parties to the last-minute, what can they expect! Hopefully we’ll get to catch up with them all again soon though.

    Oh look at her in that hat – so sweet! My little girl loves trying on hats too – there’s something about them! Hopefully now Isla loves them she’ll keep a sun hat on too. Most baby’s pull them right off! 🙂 #LivingArrows

    Ah it’s so hard to be everywhere at once, isn’t it? It sounds like her speech is coming on so well! x
