Kahlil Gibran – “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”

Living Arrows

Each week I link up with Living Arrows, a linky hosted by Donna from What The Redhead Said.  As Donna explains the project takes its name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran called On Children.

So every week I’ll be posting a photo of Isla from the last week that captures a moment of childhood.

Well, this post is fairly late this week. No excuses of being ill this time. To be honest, I’ve been struggling with motivation recently. You may have noticed from the lack of posts, other than Living Arrows and Come Dine With… But I am determined to get back on track. Watch this space!

We’ve spent the last week crafting and playing so much. My house is actually now full of pieces of paper covered in paint, stickers, feathers, stickers, pom-poms, stickers, stickers….did I mention stickers!?! Isla is obsessed with them at the moment. I spend too much time peeling stickers off the floor, tables, chairs, kitchen counters, tv units. Why!? Why??

We also popped down to the library and got a load of books out. My hope was that Isla might decide to read some of them at bedtime, but no. Instead she just wants to read the same story, every. single. night. It gets a bit boring! But nice that she likes it so much.

Although Isla doesn’t watch In The Night Garden so much (her current fascinations are Bing, and if I can persuade her away from that, Swashbuckle), she does love it. Her favourite is Upsy Daisy, and so she chose two ITNG books while we were at the library.

I love this photo of Isla and Chris. She’s telling Chris about all the shapes and all the characters in ITNG, while reading it to ‘Bella’ (I won Luvabella in the raffle at BlogOnX in May) She goes through phases of playing with Bella. Sometimes she absolutely loves her, and drags her around everywhere with her, trying to feed her milk and fruit pouches, giving her kisses and cuddles. And then she’ll go weeks without even giving her a sideways glance. I love seeing Chris and Isla together though, they make each other laugh so much (most of the time) and seeing the love they have for each other is just heart warming.

Please also forgive the sorry excuse for a plant at the front of the picture though….it’s looking a bit worse for wear, and I’m not quite sure what happened to it! However, it has since had a bit of a haircut, and it looking much more healthy!

Bless her. Luvabella looks like she is also enjoying the book.

Oh the sticker phase! We have just about got out of that – they love them don’t they!? x
