Kahlil Gibran – “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”

Living Arrows

Each week I link up with Living Arrows, a linky hosted by Donna from What The Redhead Said.  As Donna explains the project takes its name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran called On Children.

So every week I’ll be posting a photo of Isla from the last week that captures a moment of childhood.

I love just watching Isla at the moment. I know I’ve said this before, but she really is changing by the day at the moment. Her speech is coming on leaps and bounds, and oh my, I really am having to watch my language these days. She has repeated a few choice phrases recently!

Her imagination is really developing too. She cooks me something in her kitchen most days, and really thinks about what it is she’s cooking me when I ask her. Over the weekend, she woke up super early, and so by the time we were heading over to look at a new house she was in need of a rare nap. But before she would go to sleep, she was handing out imaginary items to us in the car, and placing them in neat lines on her car seat.

I love it. It really gives me the warm and fuzzies!

This weeks photo really made me laugh. Isla just jumped up off the sofa, mid-cuddle, ran to put her wellies on, and grabbed a shopping bag and said “shopping now, Mama!” I have no idea where it came from. We had no need to go shopping really, but I felt I couldn’t say no, she was so excited about it. So I grabbed my shoes and another shopping bag and off we went. But not before she insisted that I wear the shopping bag on my shoulder like she was doing. I have no idea where she got the idea from, as I never carry my shopping bags like this.

Oh my, she is just such a cutie pie!!!

There really is a point where they start to learn and grow so quickly. She sounds like such a lovely little character x

I think she’s definitely reached that point, I’m amazed at what new words she comes out with each day, and her comprehension of things!

Oh bless her, she sounds like such a cutie – I love that age when they’re really starting to show their personalities and are learning so much. #LivingArrows
