Living Arrows – 31/52 {2018}

Kahlil Gibran – “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”

Living Arrows

Each week I link up with Living Arrows, a linky hosted by Donna from What The Redhead Said.  As Donna explains the project takes its name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran called On Children.

So every week I’ll be posting a photo of Isla from the last week that captures a moment of childhood.

Happy Monday everyone. I hope you all enjoyed the weekend, and the rain! I am loving this slightly cooler weather,  while it lasts.

This week I had a delivery… of buttons.  Lots of buttons! I ordered them a few weeks ago, late one night when I couldn’t sleep. I have many crafty plans for them,  I just need to find the time.

Isla has always loved my tin of buttons (as I used to love playing with my mum’s,  and Grandma’s button tins) , and she loves it even more so now there are so many more in there.

Isla will happily play with all my buttons for so long. It is definitely the activity that will keep her occupied for the longest. And she loves sorting through them all.

As you can see from this weeks photo, she likes to arrange them by colour in separate pots. I have had to laugh at her though, as on several occasions she has decided she doesn’t like the black buttons. She picks them all out, and they have to go in a pile on their own at the other end of the table, and are not allowed back in the button tin! She is a funny child!

    Maybe she thinks the black ones are a bit boring? This looks like a great activity for keeping her quiet! x

    This brought back a memory from my own childhood – my mum had a huge pot of buttons and I absolutely loved looking through it and inspecting them all. She looks entranced! x

    Ahhh, look at the concentration on her face! She’s having a fab time there by the looks of it! My daughter would love this too. #LivingArrows
