Kahlil Gibran – “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”

Living Arrows

Each week I link up with Living Arrows, a linky hosted by Donna from What The Redhead Said.  As Donna explains the project takes its name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran called On Children.

So every week I’ll be posting a photo of Isla from the last week that captures a moment of childhood.

The weeks really seem to be flying by at the moment, mostly in a sweaty haze! We had a pretty chilled out few days during the week, with lots of playing at home as it’s been too hot for us to go outside.

We decided to go to Odd’s Farm on Tuesday, as there was a fair bit of cloud cover so was slightly cooler. Isla got so excited when she realised where we were, and immediately took off her shoes ready to go on the soft play. She ran and climbed around like a mad man for a good hour or two, and then we headed outside to play on the park area.

As there were only three baby/toddler swings, and they were all being used we decided to play in the sand pit. Isla told me straight away that we needed socks and shoes off! She is so bossy, I have no idea where she gets it from! She spent ages filling up this truck and then emptying it out again. She’s definitely my daughter though, as she didn’t like all the bark in there, so sat and picked it all out piece by piece….only to fill the truck up again and get loads more bark in there! We had to go home after a little bit of playing outside though as Isla declared it “too hot, Mama, Isla too hot. Home now.”

We spent a lovely weekend with friends – good food, good company, a lot of alcohol, and some baby cuddles too! Then on Sunday we headed over to my parent’s house to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. What an achievement that is! Definite #marriagegoals
