Kahlil Gibran – “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”

Living Arrows

Each week I link up with Living Arrows, a linky hosted by Donna from What The Redhead Said.  As Donna explains the project takes its name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran called On Children.

So every week I’ll be posting a photo of Isla from the last week that captures a moment of childhood.

This week has felt long. Some weeks are fine, other weeks just feel like they go on for ever. Especially since we’ve dropped nap time. On the whole, dropping nap time has worked quite well for us. There are days when she is a nightmare, but mostly Isla has been fine. She does start to get a bit grouchy towards the end of the evening, but I think that’s to be expected. The big positive is that *touch wood* Isla seems to go to sleep pretty much straight away once we put her down, or at least within 10 minutes. With is a huge improvement on the 2-3 hours we were often having earlier!

Living Arrows - 29/52 {2018}

Earlier in the week we had a day that was slightly cooler that it has been for a long time, so Isla and I headed to the park, and managed a fair while there before we had to retreat inside for an ice lolly. The park near our house is such a basic park, which is great for Isla. She can climb on the frame and up the slide herself and needs no help, and I can watch her without having a heart attack at how high she is.

Isla was pretty cute at the park. She insisted that her dolly had to come with her. She has, in the last month of so, really taken a liking to her dolls and cuddly toys. She now actually plays with them, and feeds them, and will talk to them, put them down to sleep etc. Anyway, dolly had to climb up the steps and go up and down the climbing frame, and she went flying down the slide….which was apparently the funniest thing that has happened in a long time!

I love going to the park with Isla….I’m just miserable at the moment, and hate going out in this weather. I don’t deal with the heat well. I just want it to rain and cool off a few degrees. Too much to ask?

    Isla looks happy on the slide, hope her dolly got a slide too. It’s just started to cool down here after a little rain which is much more bearable. Hope it’s a bit cooler for you soon too x #livingarrows

    She sounds like the perfect age to enjoy a park now – it really is the simple things when it comes to play parks and toddlers! Love the dolly too x

    You cant beat a trip to the park, especially at this age. I have started to take Kipper as I realised that Ive not been doing it because we end up going to the big park for Monkey. Sounds like she’s doing really well without the nap xx
