Living Arrows 2018

Living Arrows – 25/52 {2018}

Kahlil Gibran – “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”

Living Arrows

Each week I link up with Living Arrows, a linky hosted by Donna from What The Redhead Said.  As Donna explains the project takes its name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran called On Children.

So every week I’ll be posting a photo of Isla from the last week that captures a moment of childhood.

I feel bad, as I haven’t taken many photos this last week. In fact I didn’t take any at all on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday! We had a pretty chilled out start of the week, which is always very much-needed. I met up with an old work colleague on Monday while Isla was at nursery, and realised we haven’t seen each other since last August!! We’re planning on meeting up again soon though so that she can see Isla, and she’s going to bring along her granddaughter too for Isla to play with.

We were up at my parent’s again at the weekend. Chris and I had tickets for Gardener’s World Live at the NEC in Birmingham….well, we thought we had tickets for Friday…turns out we had tickets for Thursday, so had to buy new tickets, but at least we got a big discount…and our original tickets were bought with a big discount too. But still annoying! Me and Chris being in Birmingham means that Isla spent the day with her Grandma and Grandpa, which she is always happy about.

And then Aunty Jamie and Uncle Heather came up too, so that we could have a big catch up with old friends and their kids. Isla loved it!

She wasn’t too happy when we were going home though. She was pretty tired, as she’d had a few late nights, and one morning where she decided it was a good idea to wake up at stupid o’clock for a few hours. So, at the end of Sunday lunch she had a bit of a melt down. She calmed down a bit in the car…and decided to eat her toes (obviously didn’t eat enough at lunch!) I think it’s been a very long time since I’ve been that flexible. How about you guys!? And then we had another melt down because I wouldn’t let her bite the skin off the side of my thumb! Thankfully she had a short nap on the way home, and was much more pleasant in the evening once we were home.

We have now officially decided to cut out naps though. As every day she has a nap, she then doesn’t go to sleep until really late….like nearly 10pm! So today is the first day she’s been to nursery and they’ve been told they can’t let her sleep. Wish us luck tonight!

    Such a cute photo, my little one is forever putting her feet in her mouth. I find it kind of gross really haha. #LivingArrows

    Those meltdowns are oh so familiar to me! It sounds like you’ve been so busy – and what a mess up with the tickets! I hope you had a great time anyway x

    How was it when she did not sleep at the nursery? So annoying for the tickets but you still made it 🙂 #LivingArrows

    Hope nursery went okay. I don’t think it will be long until we are doing the same. I’m with you on photos I very rarely take anything during the week at all! #livingarrows
