Kahlil Gibran – “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”
Each week I link up with Living Arrows, a linky hosted by Donna from What The Redhead Said. As Donna explains the project takes its name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran called On Children.
So every week I’ll be posting a photo of Isla from the last week that captures a moment of childhood.
This weeks Living Arrows is late this week I’m afraid as we’ve been on our first family holiday abroad since Isla was born…I’m sure you’ll hear more about that in next weeks Living Arrows.
We had a fantastic BBQ with friends last Monday, and every day since Isla has been asking to have a BBQ! We’d moved the spare table and chairs out in to the garden so there were enough seats and places to put food, and they ended up staying in the garden (because we’re super lazy and didn’t get round to putting it away until the weekend!)
The rest of the week seemed to be a blur of chores, tidying the house, trying (and failing) to get a certain little girly to nap, playing with some fantastic new toys that Mama got her from #BlogOnX conference, gardening with Grandpa, and getting ready for our holiday.
One evening while I was tidying and sorting out dinner, Chris took Isla out into the garden, where she insisted on posing for photos on the table and chairs. She currently loves doing the above pose. And I think she looks super-duper cute doing so, don’t you? I think the fact she now agrees to have her hair up helps with the cuteness. And it makes me happy as it means that we can put off cutting her hair for a bit longer!
She is such a cheeky chops at the moment, and I am just amazed at how chatty she is too! New words are developing each day, and she copies everything we do! I know I’ve said it before, but she really is becoming her own littler person, and you can see glimpses of what she’ll be like when she’s older. I’m loving watching her grow up.
