Kahlil Gibran – “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”

Living Arrows

Each week I link up with Living Arrows, a linky hosted by Donna from What The Redhead Said.  As Donna explains the project takes its name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran called On Children.

So every week I’ll be posting a photo of Isla from the last week that captures a moment of childhood.

We’ve barely been at home this last week. We headed up to my parents’ house on Tuesday morning as my lovely Daddy had bought us,  my brother and his girlfriend tickets to see Wicked in Birmingham while they looked after Isla for us. Its awesome by the way, go see it if you haven’t already!

Me and Isla then stayed on at Mum and Dad’s for a few days while Chris went back to work. Isla was spoilt rotten by them, as she always is, and loved every moment of being there.

We then headed up to Barnsley for Friday night to see the girls I lived with at uni. We all have babies now, and it was the first time we’d all been together properly in about 5-6 years, as Katy now lives in Australia (the other times we’d met up were weddings so one of us was always otherwise occupied) It was fantastic, but far too short.

And finally, Sunday we went to Cliveden for a few hours where the weather was amazing and Isla loved running around everywhere, eating Daddy’s ice cream, and exploring everything!

This weeks photo was taken in Mum and Dad’s garden. Isla always loves playing in their garden, and it’s usually the first thing she wants to do when we get there. It was so nice that we had such amazing weather this last week. It’s meant we spent pretty much all our time out in the garden, or at the park , just generally outside. Isla has not stopped running around, it has been exhausting, but so lovely to watch. It really makes me so aware of how little outside space we have for her to play in at our house. It really cements in my mind that I want to move somewhere, within the next year, that had a good-sized child-friendly garden.
