Living Arrows 2018

Living Arrows – 16/52 {2018}

Kahlil Gibran – “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”

Living Arrows

Each week I link up with Living Arrows, a linky hosted by Donna from What The Redhead Said.  As Donna explains the project takes its name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran called On Children.

So every week I’ll be posting a photo of Isla from the last week that captures a moment of childhood.

I honestly don’t know where this last has gone! But then again, last Monday seems such a long time ago. Weeks like that are weird.

We’ve had a busy old week, with my parents here at the start, catching up with friends, trips to the park, bike rides and baking, lots of allotmenting on Saturday and a visit from the wonderful Sam and her boys.

Living Arrows - 16/52 {2018}

Last weekend Chris and my Dad did a job I’d been meaning to do for absolutely ages. Clean the patios. We have this small one (above) our the front, and a slightly bigger one out the back. After a year or so of lots of plants sat on them, birds crapping on them, and general rubbish British weather they were a sorry sight.

The patio out the back looks completely different (check out my Instagram for a before and after), and the whole place looks so much brighter. We used the pressure washer on that one. Out the front though, as there were so many plants they only used a patio cleaner, so it didn’t have as much of a drastic impact. It’s still loads cleaner though. After a few days we decided it needed a bit of a scrub still, so we put the hose on it and gave it a good clean.

Isla of course, wanted to “help”. So we filled up a little watering can for her and gave her a little brush and set her to work. She absolutely loved it! Of course she needed more water…and more….and more…and more! Chris was getting stressed as she was getting soaked, but she was having fun, and likes copying what Mama and Daddy were doing. I think he was worried she would want to do it every time she went out there…but so far we’ve avoided that.
