Kahlil Gibran – “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”

Living Arrows

Each week I link up with Living Arrows, a linky hosted by Donna from What The Redhead Said.  As Donna explains the project takes its name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran called On Children.

So every week I’ll be posting a photo of Isla from the last week that captures a moment of childhood.

For some reason I haven’t taken many photos of Isla this past week. Too busy having fun, doing crafts, readings lots and lots of books, repeatedly doing the same puzzles (maybe I need to get her some new ones for her birthday in a couple of weeks!) So for this weeks photo I’ve used one that Chris took.

We went out for dinner on Friday night. One of the things on my list of 101 things to do in 1001 days is to visit 5 new restaurants in our local area. This is quite difficult, as we’ve actually been to most the ones we want to visit!

Back in December I’d found a nice pub/restaurant near us that said it was child and muddy boot friendly, which always sounds good to me. The menu looked quite good too, but for certain reasons we didn’t end up going then.

Mum and Dad came down this weekend, and suggested we went out somewhere so that I can count it towards ticking this task off my list, so off we went.

Isla didn’t have much of a nap in the afternoon, so she was a bit tired, which can make her clingy at times, and so she wants boo-boo (a feed). But she also decided she wanted to read at the same time. And her choice of read?

The gin list! She is definitely my daughter!

Despite the fact she is growing so much at the moment (over an inch in the last month!), in some photos, like this one, she’s still got cute little chubby arms and hands like a baby. She’s going to be 2 in three weeks (how!?!) but she is still my little baby girl.

I love that you’re trying to visit more local restaurants – we usually go further afield but don’t do much close to home x
