Life As Mrs D is going to BlogOnX

At the beginning of May I will be going to BlogOnX at Hotel Football. It will be my second blogging conference, and I’m really looking forward to it. Yet am still really nervous, as I’m not good at meeting new people! Hopefully I can get chatting to a few friendly bloggers who are also attending, through joining up with the BlogOnX Introduce Yourself Linky, so it won’t be as daunting!

Life As Mrs D is going to BlogOnX

This photo was taken recently, and reflects me a lot I think. Jeans, t-shirt and a hoody, no make-up and hair in need of colouring! I’m sat in the car waiting for it to stop raining so we can run inside, with Isla sat on my knee and she’s refusing to sleep despite being tired. I’ll probably look pretty similar to this at BlogOnX, but maybe looking a bit more scared! (Please come and say hi!) Although I’ll be leaving Isla with her Grandma and Grandpa for the weekend (Daddy will be at the football).

What’s your favourite pizza topping?

Chicken. I love Dr Oetker Pollo pizza at the moment. Chicken, sweetcorn, spinach…although I don’t often get to eat the chicken or sweetcorn from it as Isla steals it all!!

You can have dinner with any three guests dead or alive – who do you choose and why?

Oooh, three is a difficult choice! I’m currently running a guest blogging series called Come Dine With… where bloggers tell me who their six famous (dead or alive) dinner guest would be, and why (If you’re interested in joining in, then drop me a message!) I think if I had to choose three though, I would choose Barack Obama, Dave Grohl, and Victoria Wood.

Up to now what would you consider being your biggest life achievement?

Without a doubt it would have to be the gorgeous little girl that is my Isla Jean. She is a right handful at times, but she is my absolute world and I couldn’t imagine life without her (although the odd afternoon here and there is very much-needed!)

If you woke up tomorrow as a character from any Disney film or book who would you be and why?

Possibly an unexpected answer, but I think I would choose Peter Pan. He gets to fly, live with all his best friends, and never has to grow up, so no bills, job, stresses or anything.

What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?

Try to go back to sleep usually! And then I check what time it is, groan and try to go back to sleep again!

If you won the lottery what would be the very first thing you would buy and why?

A bottle of champagne to celebrate, while planning the rest of my spending!

What is your favourite quote from a movie?

Kat – “You can’t just buy me a guitar every time you screw up ya know?”

Patrick – “Yeah, I know. But then you know there’s always drums, and bass, and maybe even one day a tambourine!”

If you were a superhero what would your super power be?

Invisibility. I’d love to watch other people to find out what they’re up to. I’m a really nosy person!

What is the best piece of advice you have ever been given?

Put it in the f*ck it bucket, and move on!

Which emoji do you use the most?

The crying laughing emoji!

If you could go back in time and tell yourself anything what would it be?

Never drink vodka! It doesn’t taste good, ever. And nothing good comes of it!

What do you currently have set as the wallpaper on your phone?

Life As Mrs D is going to BlogOnX

With the Pinterest icon over her nose!

If you could do anything in the world as a legitimate job what would you do?

Reviewing really nice holidays!

Where is your favourite place in the world?

Jura! We used to go there lots when we were younger. It was my idea of heaven. There was no TV, no internet, no phone signal, just a pay phone. We could pretty much do as we pleased, as long as we were at dinner for 8pm, and vaguely let people know where we were. I miss that place so much. I think it’s very closely followed by Victoria Falls at sunset. It’s so tranquil and peaceful. It’s so so busy during the day, but then the sun starts to set and everyone just stops and watches it. The only noise is Mosi-ao-Tunya (The Smoke That Thunders, what the locals call the noise of the waterfall).

I’m really looking forward to going to BlogOnX this year. I’m hoping I get to meet lots of lovely new bloggers, discover some fabulous new brands to collaborate with, and learn lots of new things at the seminars. Are you going to BlogOnX in May? Say hi if you are there, and don’t forget to link up with the linky here.

So I hope that has helped you get to know me a bit more.
