January’s Little Loves
Little Loves is a linky that runs once a month. It’s aim is to remember the little things that happen, and a nice, easy way of documenting them.
I’ve started to read Why Mummy Drinks by Gill Sims. Chris bought it me for Christmas, and I’m quite enjoying it, and it’s a really easy read, which always helps. I’m impressed that I’ve already managed to read to the end of ‘December’ (it starts in September, and is basically a year in the life…) I’m not entirely sure how long it will take me to finish it, but hopefully not too long….it just requires me going to bed at a decent time!
The Little Drummer Girl – I’ve got to admit, I didn’t enjoy this as much as I thought I would do. I’ve loved a lot of the short drama series the BBC has had on recently, but this one just didn’t grab me like the others have.
Manhunt – Based on the search for Levi Bellfield who was eventually charged with several murders, including that of Millie Dowler. It was a really good programmed actually, so much so that I managed to get Chris to stay up past his usual bedtime so that we could watch the last episode!
21 Kids and Counting – I love this programme. They are just so down to earth. How they ever cope with so many children though, I will never know! Their house just always seems like absolute chaos!
I’ve also started watching the new series of Cold Feet, Cleaning Up, Call the Midwife, Tin Star, and Silent Witness. Really enjoying them all so far….well, apart from Tin Star. I found series one of this a bit of a long slow slog….but kind of feel I need/have to watch series two.
Erm…my house tidy!?! I’ve just bought myself a Dyson V10 Animal, and I’ve got to say, I’m pretty in love with it so far. Our old vacuum was really heavy, and the clips on it kept coming undone so it wouldn’t suck properly/anything, and even so the suction on it was crap. We’ve had it coming up to 6 years, but yeah. I managed to vacuum the whole house (cobwebs and sofa dive included) in the time it would usually take me to do the stairs and our bedroom. So I’m pretty pleased with that.
I don’t think I’ve made anything else thing month, I’ve been pretty lazy with cooking and baking, and we’ve been using a lot of stuff we’ve previously batch cooked and frozen. And I haven’t made anything crafty either.
I’ve finally had to give in and change my coat. I don’t really do Winter coats etc….I usually just wear the same coat most the year round, if one is required. It’s fairly loose, light-weight, but warm….problem is though, with my expanding waistline, if I have anything in my pockets (like these days a hat and gloves is a necessity!) then it pulls too much on the buttons and I’m at risk of losing them! So I have had to dig out a different coat that zips up. The day before I had Isla I could zip this coat up and you couldn’t really tell I was pregnant! I’m definitely won’t be able to do this with Bus…especially as it’s pretty tight already, but then again I am wearing big thick cardys underneath, which I wasn’t when Isla was born!
I’ve also been wearing my new pyjamas this month. They’re super comfy, and I’ve just written a review on them.
Chris got an Amazon Echo Dot (on offer at time of writing!) for his birthday, so I have been listening to the radio a lot more at night when both Isla and Chris are asleep and I’m doing blogging work. I find that it distracts me a lot less than TV does, and so I seem to be getting much more done. Isla has also taken a shining to Alexa…mainly she just shouts at her to stop, but occasionally she will ask Alexa to play things, and turn the volume up….which she is very proud of herself when Alexa understands what she’s saying!
