Tell me I’m not the only person who loves a good afternoon tea? I’ve had a couple over the years, but I decided that I quite wanted to have afternoon tea somewhere posh. Somewhere where your surroundings are almost as amazing as afternoon tea itself.

For my birthday the boy done good. He took me away for the night (Mum and Dad came to look after Isla for us), and he took me to Hartwell House for afternoon tea.

And wow!

When I first looked at the menu, I wasn’t too sure as to whether I would like it, but I decided to give it a go. And it was all pretty amazing. The only thing I didn’t eat was the Smoked Applewood Cheese, and spiced chutney sandwich. All the rest was simply divine! Here’s the menu if you fancied having a look what we had.

It was so nice to get dressed up and go out, and know we didn’t have to rush back to get Isla or anything. To be able to sit and eat and talk to each other, without having to tell a toddler to sit down, and encourage them to eat, or tell them not to throw food on the floor. It has made me want to go and have more afternoon teas!

Can you suggest anywhere nice in and around Buckinghamshire?
