Goals for 2015 – how I got on

At the very beginning of the year I wrote a post about my goals for 2015 so here is a quick review of how I actually got on with them

Goals for 2015 – how I got on

Goal 1:

Slim for Spain

Well it started alright, I was eating healthily, I even did the cabbage soup diet and lost weight on it, but put bits of it back on when I started eating McDonalds and going to the bakery far too often again. I’d said that I wanted to lose a bit of weight for the wedding in March, and then feel comfortable in my bikini on the beach in June. Well I didn’t really lose much weight before the wedding. But as I came off my medication for headaches in order to try for a baby in mid March I then very quicklyΒ  lost weight. In fact I got down to my ‘ideal’ goal of 10 stone by the time we went to Spain in June. That’s nearly 2 stone in 3 months.I was not well to say the least! And in fact, I decided that 10 stone was actually far too much weight for me to lose, and I didn’t like myself that slim. I’d be happy to put 1/2 stone back on. Needless to say that hasn’t happened…even with being 23+ weeks pregnant, I’d actually managed to lose another 1/2 stone since finding out I was pregnant, and am only now just back at about the 10 stone mark…but do look fatter due to my ever expanding bump!

Goal 2:

Finish projects in a timely manner

Hahaha! I think I easily did this…mainly by not really starting any projects!! The doors upstairs are still not finished. The cupboard under the stairs did get finished though, and even if I do say so myself looked/looks quite good. It has turned back in to a dumping ground on numerous occasions, but I eventually get round to tidying it again into some semblance of normality and order, most recently on Sunday/Monday this week so that we could put our new pushchair away (more on that in another post….maybe!) I do feel as though this year we haven’t had much time at home to do anything, and if we have been at home then we’ve either had friends round, or have been busy tidying the house, the garden, or at the allotment.

Goal 3:

Be more proactive with blogging

Epic fail!!!! A blog post once a week, if not twice!? Hahaha! I was lucky if I managed once a month… or quarter! I also failed at the commenting on other blogs part of this…I still managed to read loads of blogs on Bloglovin’, but never quite progressed to the commenting section, maybe this year??

Goal 4:

Be happier at work

I haven’t got to the point where I wake up and look forward to going in to work, and to be perfectly honest, I don’t know many people that do. On the whole I guess I’m not as miserable as I was at work when writing my goals for 2015. Things have been very varied this year, although it’s been difficult as we have been short staffed for so much of it, and for a long time nothing was being done about it. I got to the point where I decided what was pissing me off about work is never going to change so I just let it brush over me. There is at least an end in sight for now….for a year at least. Come March I will be going on maternity leave for a year, which I think will be a good break from work for me, and allow me to possibly appreciate it more when I return.

So there you go, an update on my goals for 2015. I’m not sat here deciding whether to write any goals for 2016, and if I do, will I realistically achieve any of them with a new born baby? Watch this space!

Lastly I would like to wish you all a very happy new year, and I hope 2016 will be as exciting for you as it is for our family – we have around 115 days to go until we meet our Blueberry!

I think you set yourself some pretty meaty goals if I’m honest! And you didn’t do too badly anyway! Really looking forward to reading about your new arrival this year πŸ™‚

Thank you…at the start of last year they seemed realistic and I had good intentions. As is always the way, life gets in the way!
