Come Dine With…Typical Mummy
Every Friday I’ll be posting another dinner guest wish list in my guest series, Come Dine With…
This series asks all sorts of bloggers who their dream dinner guests are, and why. As you’ll find out there is quite an eclectic mix! This weeks dinner guest wish list is from Ella. You can find Ella’s blog over at Typical Mummy.

So without further ado, let’s Come Dine With… Typical Mummy
William Shakespeare – I often joke that Mr Shakespeare is one of the most important men in my life! I’m a Drama teacher and examiner so of course, Shakespeare has featured lots in my life over the years. But it’s more than that – everything about Shakespeare fascinates me, so much so that I plan on doing an MA in Shakespeare in the not so distant future! His use of words, his command of the English language, his understanding of emotions and human psychology…he’d certainly bring a lot to the conversation. He can also be very bawdy and crude in his writing so after a few drinks he’d probably have everyone laughing! I’d have so many questions to ask him about his life, a lot of which is shrouded in mystery. Oh, and I’d love to hear his accent because it definitely wouldn’t be as “posh” as many people would expect!
Audrey Hepburn – Possibly one of the most beautiful women who ever lived, but so much more than that! From being a helper of the Resistance against the Nazis as a child to working for UNICEF in her later years amongst some of the poorest communities in the world, she would have some interesting stories to tell. She would bring class, style and poise to the table and I bet she’d have some great behind the scenes tales from the golden age of Hollywood too!
Stephen Fry – Stephen Fry is very witty and intelligent so I’m sure he and Shakespeare would hit it off immediately. His public battles with his mental health and his honesty about his personal struggles would be something I’d want to discuss with him as he has helped me a lot over the years – I’d like to thank him for that!
Holly Willoughby – I’ve always liked Holly Willoughby – she seems like such a lovely, bubbly, kind and genuine person. The sort of person I’d gladly welcome into my friendship circle! She doesn’t mind sharing her emotions in front of the nation and seems to wear her heart on her sleeve. She must be quite a savvy businesswoman too…she landed one of the best presenting jobs on British television and is at the top of her game yet still managed to wangle getting all the school holidays off work! Jammy!! Holly would be the only person on my list who would be allowed to bring a “plus 1” with them to the party (sorry, I know this is bending the rules a bit!!) but only if she brought Phillip Schofield! The pair of them can be so funny together and I’m sure that once they’d had a few drinks they’d be hilarious! (And I’ve always had a bit of a crush on Phillip Schofield…yes, I know it’s weird!!!)
Bridget Jones – Yes, I know she’s not real, but if she was she’d definitely be invited to the party. So many of us grew up with her as a part of our lives (watching Bridget Jones’ Diary repeatedly on VHS got me through my university years…so much so that I can probably recite the script from start to finish!) and now she has children we’d be able to swap stories and tips over a bottle (or 3) of wine! But if I’m not allowed a fictional character then I guess I’d invite Helen Fielding, Bridget’s creator, instead!
Banksy – I’d invite Banksy mainly just to find out who he (or she!) actually is! Wouldn’t it be funny if a little old lady turned up?!!
