So without further ado, let’s Come Dine With… Girl Gone Dreamer

Come Dine With... Girl Gone Dreamer

Grace Kelly – I’ve always had a bit of an obsession with the American actress who became a real life Princess. I first saw one of her movies – High Society – when I was a young girl. It was a movie filled with famous faces such as Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra and thus began my love affair with that particular era of Hollywood. Grace came across as being a bit of an ice queen and yet her true life stories and biographies depict another side to her. I can imagine that she’d be up for a girly giggle and a laugh. Of course I’d also have to ask her what Bing and Frank were like in real life!
Elizabeth Taylor – Another ‘old school’ actress who I’ve always been fascinated with but this time purely for her beauty and love affair with Richard Burton. If I was at dinner with Liz then I’d ask for makeup tips!! She was surely the eyeliner queen!? It would also be very interesting to have both Grace and Liz at the same dinner table given that they were both two very famous women from the same timeline.
Elvis Presley – The King himself. I’d definitely ask him to sing us a song or two. I love all of Elvis’ music and movies. I had a serious crush on him when he featured in the 1961 Blue Hawaii!!
Roald Dahl – As a child I had a fascination with Roald’s books and I guess as an adult that hasn’t really changed. I actually watched the Spielberg movie adaption of The BFG earlier today with my nephew. This is a name that will surely go down in the history books for generations to come. I’d love to ask him where he got his ideas and inspiration from.
Princess Diana – What an incredible lady she was, right? Beautiful, kind in nature, generous, funny… Diana came to open a new part of our local hospital when I was at primary school and I was gutted that I didn’t get to meet her. I suppose I wasn’t as aware of her or what she’d done for the world until her tragic and untimely death in 1997 when I was in my last year of high school. All of a sudden her name was on everyone’s lips and it was then that I started to learn much more about her.
Elton John – I had to choose another man otherwise the table would have been really off balance and poor Roald would be surrounded by women! I love everything about Elton. His music, his charity work, his love for others. I also think that having Diana and Elton at the table would be really nice for them aswell as the other guests. They were afterall firm friends.
