Blueberry at 37 weeks
Total weight gain: 21 lbs! Piling on the weight now, but that’s good as it means that baby girl is getting bigger
Maternity clothes? Still living in my maternity trousers, although some of them are getting a bit tight now too….I wear a few maternity tops, but mainly just stretchy t-shirts from Primarni!
Stretch marks? Not a clue, haven’t seen any on my tummy at all, a few on my thighs – which I know have definitely got bigger recently!
Sleep: Not great…it’s been worse than usual the last week or so as I’ve had a horrific headache which always affects my sleep. I keep planning on having an afternoon nap now I’m on maternity leave, but it never quite happens!
Best moment this week: Watching one of my oldest friends get married on Sunday (and managing to find a dress I fitted in to so I didn’t need to buy a new one!!)
Miss Anything? Still alcohol – spending the weekend with family and friends and them all drinking (including 2 of my favourite bottles of wine) really reminded me how much I can’t wait to have a glass!! I’m missing rare beef as well, and pate – Mum made Beef Wellington on Saturday night, which is one of my favourites meals, so there was no pate for me and my beef was well cooked, it was nice, just not as amazing as it could have been!
Movement: Loads, she’s a right fidget bum! Chris finds it funny that if I’m mean to him she will start kicking me, apparently she’s made an allegiance to ‘Team Big Nose’!!
Food cravings: Still none.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope, just bad heart burn still which can make me feel sick. I’ve now progressed on to Gaviscon rather than Rennie, which seems to be more effective and long lasting!
Labour Signs: None yet. I’m starting to get a bit nervous about it all now. I had hoped to be able to have Blueberry at the local birthing centre which is midwife led, but I got told on Monday that as I’m on medication for my headaches Blueberry will need some monitoring once she’s born, so we have to go to the hospital to have her now, which is about a 40 minute drive in good traffic. I’m quite disappointed to be honest, but I guess as long as she’s OK in the end that’s all that matters.
Symptoms: Feeling constantly exhausted, but being unable to sleep, needing to pee lots, heartburn, not being able to get comfortable when lying in bed, getting very uncomfortable when a certain someone decides it’s a great time to fidget loads!
Belly Button in or out? Still very much in
Wedding rings on or off? On, still loose, but less so than they were, I’m still paranoid that they’ll fall off into the bins when I’m taking the rubbish out though!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!
Looking forward to: Meeting my little girl (and hopefully finally deciding on a name for her – it will be weird not calling her Blueberry!), having alcohol, and all the food I’m not allowed to at the moment. It’s lovely being off on maternity leave, I finished just before Easter, but feel as though this is the first proper week of maternity leave, as I was so ill for most of last week with my headache. Now is the time to start working on all those things on my to-do list before Blueberry arrives, she could be here any time now!!
