40 weeks and 5 days
Today Isla has been out for as long as she was in. 40 weeks and 5 days.
That’s a really weird feeling for me, as it seems like she has been out for a lot longer than she was in. I was probably about 5 weeks along by the time we knew we were expecting our little Blueberry, so that makes it appear a bit shorter for us. I think the fact that I wasn’t a complete whale by the time she was born probably helped with feeling like she wasn’t in there for years!
The last 40 weeks and 5 days have flown by so quickly. Our lives have changed so much, but I wouldn’t change a thing. We used to go down to the local pub a couple of times a week with friends, but now between us there are three babies, and I think it would just be complete chaos. So instead, we save money and take it in turns to eat at each others houses, where there are plenty of toys to keep the chidlers happy. We also used to have lots of weekends away, either with friends or at friend’s houses. This now takes a lot more planning. But I’m looking forward to our first spa weekend away with friends in a few weeks.
I think I would completely agree with the statement “The years are short, but the days are long”. Some days I can’t wait for Chris to come home to give me a bit of a break, but I already miss the tiny baby days.
This last week or so I’ve been good, and have finally started putting Isla down in her cot for her naps. I know, I know. I probably should have started doing that a long time ago. But I LOVE having sleepy snuggles with by little girl. One of my favourite parts of the week day is when Chris has gone to work, and Isla starts to stir, so I bring her into bed with me, give her a quick feed, and then we have more sleepy snuggles. There is just something so lovely about when Isla turns over in her sleep and puts her arm around me, and snuggles in.
As you will have seen from my month updates of Isla (links are below if you wanted a read or a refresh) she has changed so much in the last 40 weeks and 5 days, and I can’t wait to see as to how she will change over the next 40 weeks and 5 days!
